Sorry I haven’ been blogging lately. I’ve been going to places. I just wanted to remind you guys that I will be busy for the next few days, maybe until Wednesday, and I won’t get time to blog because I won’t have any access of the computer. The Giants made their first move, trading Bengie Molina to the Texas
Rangers for pitchers Chris Ray and Michael Main. This helps the Texas
team because their catchers only hit .212 with seven home runs and 30
RBIs this season. Molina brings experience and is expected to help the
team. This, however, lets Buster Posey become our starting catcher.
Posey will get more starts and will get the experience to become the
Giants starting catcher. This move will probably bring Huff to first
base, and our outfield will be Burrell, Rowand, and Torres. But, Eli
Whiteside will get playing time and will catch Tim Lincecum’s start
today. Buster Posey will still get some playing time at first base, but
not as frequently. Rumor says that the Giants are looking for a fist
baseman. A lot of articles are saying they should get Prince Fielder. My
opinion: Joey Votto. He has 18 homeruns, .314 batting average, and 55
RBI’s. He’s a beast! I can’t believe he’s not an All-Star. Then, we
could have Huff, Burrell, and Torres as our starting outfield along with
Rowand and Schierholtz on the bench. Rumor also says that the Giants
are looking for a third baseman, which will move Pablo Sandoval as our
first baseman. The Giants will take on a huge part in the trading
business.Now, let’s talk about our acquisitions. Chris Ray went 2-0 with
a 3.41 ERA, 31.2 innings pitched, and 16 strikeouts. He had 33 saves as
a closer for the Orioles in 2006 but endured arm problems was not the
same, but now regained his Renaissance form. Main, went 5-3 with 3.45
ERA along with 72 strikeouts at Class A Bakersfield. He was promoted to
Double A Frisco earlier this week. The Giants will have to plan really
hard and not screw up here. Everyone is counting on Sabean to make the
right choice. This will affect our team, and our future. I wish good
luck to Molina in Texas.

The Giants lost to the Dodgers and we’re on a four game losing streak.
The score was 4-2, again. Not much going on for the Giants, because they
left a lot, I mean a lot of runners on base. They were no match for
pitcher Jon Ely, who threw seven innings of one-run ball. Both pitchers
had a good game, but they had some mistakes. In the first inning, Matt
Cain went over thirty pitches and allowed one run to the Dodgers leading
RBI man, James Loney. In the bottom of the first, Jon Ely had some
trouble. He couldn’t find the strike zone and the Giants scored a run on
him with an Aubrey Huff sac fly. Both pitchers were later calmed down
and pitched well. However, in the fifth, James Loney hit a two out
single that drove in two runs. That left James Loney with fifty-four
RBIs. Casey Blake then had an RBI single that drove in Loney which made
it 4-1. Cain was done after five innings. In the seventh, the Giants Dan
Runzler had runners on third and second with no outs but Runzler got
out of the jam. In the ninth,the Giants Pat Burrell hit a solo  homerun
off former Giant Justin Miller. With this loss, it dropped us form
second place to fourth place. Today’s match will be Jonathan Sanchez vs
Vicente Padilla. Now,if you remember, Aaron Rowand went to the DL
because he was pegged in the head. It looked intentional, because one
Dodger was already pegged but Padilla said no. He was supposed to
apologize to Rowand but he never did. Padilla has a feuding problem.
He’s gotten into a lot of fights and pegs people on purpose. I never
liked him so you shouldn’t either. Anyway, Rowand didn’t want to say
anything about this discussion. Hopefully, Sanchez will be us magic,
because it’s magic inside. ( Maybe another no-hitter or perfect game?)

Well, we lost to our big time rivals and it wasn’t a good one. It was a
tough pitcher’s duel and the offense was quiet. Chad Billingsley and
Barry Zito each lasted six innings with two runs allowed. In the first
inning, Aubrey Huff drove a single to right field that scored Andres
Torres. In the third inning, Andre Ethier hit a sac fly that drove in
Rafael Furcal that made it 1-1. The next batter, Manny Ramirez hit a
sharp fly to center field that would’ve been the final out of the
inning, but the ball deflected off Andres Torres’ glove and Ramirez had a
double while Reed Johnson scored to make it 2-1. Again, in the sixth,
the Giants had a chance to tie the game and they used it. With a runner
on second, Freddy Sanchez hit a single to center field that drove in
Travis Ishikawa. Matt Kemp was playing more to the right and he had no
chance of nailing Ishikawa. Ishikawa, by the way, is getting good at his
pinch-hitter role. He is hitting above .500 as a pitcher but in the
eighth inning with two outs, Casey Blake hit a homerun off Santiago
Casilla that scored two runs to make it 4-2. In the ninth, James Loney
hit a deep fly that was surely going to be a hit but Aubrey Huff stopped
while catching the ball and smashing into the left field wall. It was a

it on the small tiny video. In the ninth, the Giants had a chance but
Hong-Chih Kuo struck out pinch-hitter Buster Posey and made Edgar
Renteria pop fly to right field to end the game. Today’s matchup will be
Matt Cain (6-6) 2.72 ERA vs Jon Link (3-5) 3.86 ERA.

Well, the Giants didn’t get the sweep against Boston. Tim Lincecum faired poorly. He only lasted three innings. Boston pounded on Lincecum early. In the first inning with two outs, David Ortiz hit a splash shot to McCovey Cove. Andres Torres scored in the first inning that made it 1-1. In the second inning, Jon Lester provided a run himself with a sac fly which scored Victor Martinez. The next batter Marco Scutaro hit a single that scored Bill Hall. In the third, Bill Hall singled that scored Kevin Youkilis that made it 4-1. Lincecum threw 79 pitches in three innings and that was it for him. After him came Dan Runzler. Runzler might have actually performed better than Lincecum. In two innings, Runzler fanned five while Lincecum only fanned four. The Giants bullpen shut down the Red Sox batter until the ninth inning when Adrian Beltre hit a solo shot off Sergio Romo that made it 5-1. Lester, however, threw 106 pitches and finished with a complete game. The Giants only had five hits against Lester, who earned his ninth win. Edgar Renteria had two hits and Andres Torres stole two bases, but the Giants didn’t do much. Also, by the way, the Red Sox suffered their third key injury in three games. In the first game, Dustin Pedroia fouled a ball off his foot. It is said that he has a broken foot and was placed on the DL. The Red Sox later acquired Eric Patterson from the A’s as depth. In the second game, Clay Buccholz hyperextended his left knee and was taken out. Terry Francona said it wasn’t that serious and he’ll be fine. Yesterday, Victor Martinez got hurt when a ball fouled off his thumb in the fourth inning. He was taken out and never returned.

Well, it looks like a highly anticipated Madison Bumgarner lost his season debut. In a sellout crowd, Bumgarner allowed four runs in seven innings. The Giants weren’t that offensive either. In the first inning, Darnell McDonald hit a solo shot to left field that made it 1-0. In the second inning, Boston pitcher Clay Buchholz had his first career hit but hyperextended his left knee while running the bases on a double play. Then, also in the second inning, Mike Cameron hit a three-run homer that made it 4-0. Boston would then have to tire up their bullpen. Since Boston’s bench was
very little and tired, they had to use pitcher John Lackey to pinch-hit
in the fifth inning. After that, Bumgarner was on fire. He gave Bochy innings and retired his last sixteen of his last seventeen battters and looked sharp. He also had his first career hit in the fifth inning, a line drive single to Boston left fielder Daniel Nava. Boy, Bumgarner can hit. In the third inning, Madison Bumgarner hit a bullet down between first base and second base that would have reached for a single but first baseman Kevin Youkilis made an extraordinary catch by diving and robbing Bumgarner of a hit. The Giants had some chances but didn’t score a lot. Buster Posey drove in both RBI”s with a fielder’s choice that scored Pat Burrell from third and a sac fly that brought in Juan Uribe. Before the game, Bumgarner was described as having “a lot of nerves” but settled down. To make room for Bumgarner, the Giants optioned Joe Martinez to Fresno. Today’s matchup will be Tim Lincecum (8-2) vs Jon Lester (8-3) at 1:05 PM PT at AT&T Park. Wish the Giants luck!!!!
