Bumgarner to debut today, Posey behind plate, Irvin’s number to be retired
Hello SF Giants fans,
Well, I guess I was right. Madison Bumgarner will start today against
the Red Sox today at AT&T Park. Why was I right? Because, the Giants
haven’t activated Todd Wellemeyer yet and Joe Martinez was used in the
bullpen Tuesday when Barry Zito started. Bumgarner will make his season
debut and Buster Posey will catch behind the plate today. Prospect with
prospect. Cool. Bumgarner was a 7-1 at Fresno with a 3.16 ERA. He was
pretty impressive at Fresno. He will pitch on a special day today. Today
is the ceremonial induction of Monte Irivin. His number is going to be
retired today. All Giants fans and MLB fans are looking up to this date.
Bumgarner, however, will have a tough duel with Clay Buchholz. Buchholz
is a 10-4 with a 2.47 ERA. In my opinion, I say he is Boston‘s toughest
and best pitcher this year. I hope Bumgarner out-duels Buchholz and
wins. Good luck Bumgarner!
Giants beat Red Sox, 5-4
Hello SF Giants fans,
Well the Giants had a wild game but took the first game of the series 5-4 in a very tight game. Yesterday’s match-up was between southpaw Jonathan Sanchez and knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. The Bosox got a rally in the first inning with a leadoff single to Scutaro and a walk to Daniel Nava. With out, Kevin Youkilis hit a three-run shot and just like that, it was 3-0. In the second inning, Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval singled. A wild pitch by Wakefield and a Buster Posey RBI single made it 3-1. Later, Rowand took a walk and Eli Whiteside hit a single that deflected off the glove of Tim Wakefield. Then, that brought up pitcher Jonathan Sanchez with one out with the bases loaded. He delivered a sharp bunt that brought it a run and Jonathan Sanchez had a single but Wakefield made a throwing error that scored Aaron Rowand which made it 3-3. In the third inning Juan Uribe took one deep and made it 4-3. Jonathan Sanchez only lasted five and one-thirds innings. He was replaced by Romo, who finished the inning. The Red Sox, however, had a rally in the seventh. Santiago Casilla couldn’t find the strike zone and allowed three wild pitches but Casilla ended the inning with a strikeout to Victor Martinez. In the eighth with two outs by Santiago Casilla, the Red Sox’s Darnell McDonald had a single off Brian Wilson and pinch-hitter David Ortiz walked , but Wilson finished the inning by striking out former Athletic Marco Scutaro. Scutaro, by the way, makes contact with 96% off his swings, leading the MLB. The Giants scored a run in the eight with a sac fly by Freddy Sanchez. In the ninth, the Red Sox scored a run off closer with Brian Wilson and with the bases loaded, the Giants ended the game. The Giants had twelve hits but gave up ten walks.Tomorrow’s game will be TBA vs Clay Buchholz.
Giants lose to Astros, 7-5
Hello SF Giants fans,
Well, it didn’t work out this time. The Giants lost to the Houston
Astros again, 7-5. The Astros pounded early on Matt Cain, who allowed
seven earned runs in two and two-thirds innings. He gave up a three-run
shot in the first inning to Hunter Pence, his eleventh homer of the
year. In the second, Astros rookie catcher Jason Castro, with his
parents in the stands, hit a solo shot for his first career homerun.
Then later, Lance Berkman hit a two-run RBI double. In the third inning
Michael Bourn doubled to score Jason Castro. Mat Cain only lasted two
and two-thirds innings before being replaced by fellow right hander
Denny Bautista. Early in the fourth Pat Burrell hit a two-run mammoth
whi
ch made it 7-2. The Giants later got three runs off the bullpen but
still lost 7-5. However, Wandy had a good day today. He had three
strikeouts and gave up two runs, (zero earned runs), but only gave up
four hits. He even had a hit too, ( He has a .269 batting average this
year). Wandy was the Wandy the Astros wanted. He got his fourth win of
the year and he deserved it while Cain was on a hot streak too. He had a
2.16 ERA before the game and was a considerable All-Star pick but
tonight, it was all Wandy. Friday’s game will be Tim Wakefield vs Jonathan Sanchez.
Giants lose to Astros, 6-3
Hello SF Giants fans,
Well, now we’re 7-1 against the Houston Astros this year. The Giants had
a miserable night and lost to the Houston Astros 6-3. Barry Zito,
lasted only four innings, his shortest outing of the year. In four
innings, he gave up five earned runs. He gave up 7 hits and two of his 7
hits were given up to Astro pitcher Brett Myers. He also had an RBI
too. ” ‘Z just didn’t have his stuff tonight,’ Bochy said.” Yup, he
didn’t. Myers, though, had a good game. The Astros were offensive in the
first four innings against Zito but only scored
one run and had four
hits against Giants relievers. The Giants, though, weren’t that
offensive. Andres Torres had two hits and two RBI’s, but he stranded
runners on second and first in the eight inning that would have tied the
game by striking out. The Astros had a lot of mistakes too. They
committed three errors, one by Houston pitcher Brett Myers and two by
Houston third baseman Chris Johnson and still, the Giants stranded a lot
of runners. Hopefully, today’s match-up will be better than yesterdays.
It’s Matt Cain (6-5) vs Wandy Rodriguez (3-10) at 11:05 a.m.

Official: DeRosa out for season
Hello SF Giants fans,
Giants have made it official: Mark DeRosa is out for the
season. Sohere’s the story: In 2009, Mark DeRosa injured his wrist against former
SF Giants pitcher Randy Johnson while taking a swing. He was out for the
year and a couple of months later, he had surgery on it. He later
signed a two year, 12 million with the Giants and became the starting
left fielder. During the season, he had a.196 average, one homerun, 10
RBI’s, and nothing that exciting. He re-injured his wrist, went on the
DL, had some tests, and was probably gone for the season. That rumor was
spreading for a long time, and now it’s official. DeRosa came to SF
with a lot of expectations, and so far, he did…… nothing!!!!!! He’s
gone, and we’re left without him. But, we’ve now got Pat Burrell as our
left fielder and he’s great! Everyone loves him. Then, we have Andres
Torres as our center fielder, with Rowand going to the bench. Rowand had
a .220 average, 5 homeruns, 23 RBI’s, and 41 strikeouts while Torres
bats .279, 3 homeruns, 20 RBI’s, and 43 strikeouts. Compare there
numbers and then you have an opinion. But, Torres brings us speed,
versatalitiy, and he is our leadoff hitter. Our right fielder is Aubrey
Huff, who is having a great year by the way and our first baseman is
Buster Posey. My advice to Brian Sabean: Get rid of DeRosa and re-sign
Burrell, Torres, and Huff because they’re who us Giants fans need. Your
opinion?
5th Starter Possibility
Hello SF Giants fans,
The SF Giants have had a No.5 starter problem. Todd Wellemeyer, who performed
well in spring training but not so good in the regular season is 3-5 with a
5.52 ERA, has pitched 58 and two-thirds innings, and has 41 strikeouts. He’s
currently now on the DL with a quad strain. Joe Martinez has currently been
takin
g over the job instead of top prospect Madison Bumgarner, whose has a
wonderful season in Fresno.
In his first start against the Orioles, he gave up 4 earned runs in 6 and
one-thirds innings and drew the loss, but he performed well. It was just that
the Giants weren’t offensive against Baltimore
rookie Jake Arrieta. The Giants skipped him against Houston and instead declared Tim Lincecum as
starting. Martinez is available in the bullpen
and is expected to start against Boston on
Saturday night at AT&T
Park. Martinez,
though, has faced Boston
before in a different league as an exhibition. If Matinez is needed from the
bullpen, then Madison Bumgarner might draw the start. Bumgarner, though, is 7-1
with a 3.16 ERA, has pitched 82 and two-thirds innings, 59 strikeouts, and has
allowed a .275 batting average against him at Fresno. He would be a good choice but Martinez was having a
fine season too. Wellemeyer, however. is able to come off the DL Saturday, but
Bochy does not want to risk an in jury, because Wellemyer could be gone a lot
longer. So, who will start? Say it here! Comment who you think should start
or/and will start.

Giants beat Astros 3-1
Hello SF Giants fans,
Minute Maid Park and with Tim Lincecum facing Roy Oswalt, a second
match-up. The Giants have a 6-0 record against Houston this year.
Lincecum, who had been on a slump but regained it against Philly did
beautiful with 8 crisp innings and 7 K’s. Oswalt
, too,had a good game
with seven sharp innings and five K’s. Neither team was really
offensive. Both teams were limited up to seven hits and all of them were
singles except for Michael Bourn’s RBI double. Pablo Sandoval, Nate
Schierholtz, and Pat the Bat Burrell drove in the 3 RBI’s. Brian Wilson
finished off with the save for his 20th save in 22 chances. Todays
starting match up will be Barry Zito (7-3) vs Brett Myers (4-5).
Sorry for not blogging for a while
Hello SF Giants fans,
Sorry I haven’t blogged in a long time. I’ve been really busy lately because of school and a lot of activities but now I have a chance. I promise I will make this website the best place for Giants lovers.
Giants 7-2
Hello SF Giants fans,
Yeah baby! We’re 7-2. We’re tied with Philly for the best team in the majors. Everyone is doing well. Brandon Medders needs to get confidence, Wellemeyer has to improve, and the Giants need home-run power. Well, today we got Todd Wellemeyer vs Vicente Padilla. Hope we win.
Giants win, lose agianst Braves
Hello SF Giants fans,
Well, the Giants won their Opening Day home game, so then they were 4-0. The game lasted 13 innings and Juan Uribe scored the winning run on Aaron Rowand’s infield single. Jonathan Sanchez didn’t pitch well and he caused Bruce Bochy to use the whole bullpen. Then, yesterday, Todd Wellemeyer pitched agianst Derek Lowe and it was a great match-up until the 6th inning. Wellemeyer gave up 4 runs and we lost. I tell you, the game wasn’t fair. The home plate umpire called many wrong pitches against the Giants and the Braves. If you watched the game, you would know what I mean. so now, we’re 4-1 but we got Tim Lincecum today versus Kenshin Kawakami. We’ll probably win.
